I can't believe it. Baby Chase is three months old today! It seems like time is passing so fast and so slow at the same time. He has already grown so much since his birthday, but I also can't wait for him to reach some other milestones - sitting up, crawling, etc. It's all just been a great adventure for our little family!
According to our bathroom scale, Chase weighs 12lbs today. That's a weight gain of 1lb, 2oz since his two month doctor's visit. We won't have an official doctor's visit until next month, but as far as mommy is concerned, he is one healthy, happy boy! He is changing so much lately. Every day his personality is evolving, and he's learning something new. As we speak, he's sitting beside me sleeping and making the cutest noises...from little sighs, coos and groans to stuffy nose breathing. I could just eat him up!
3 Month Updates:
Feedings have remained around six ounces until recently. Lately he's been wanting more, but spitting up quite a bit. So I called the Doctor, who recommended Zantac. That didn't quite sit well with mommy (because he never seemed to be in pain), so we bought some cereal instead, thinking that he just needed something to sit a little heavier in his belly. For the past three days, I've added half a scoop of cereal to his six ounce bottles, and it's worked like a charm. He's consistently going three hours between feedings (we were down to two hours or so), and also napping once each feeding cycle (20-30 minutes). I'm thinking that my intuition was on the money with this one.
He's still wearing 3month size clothes. Some of them are a little snug, and I've also brought out a few 3-6 month size outfits, but for the most part, he's still fitting these pretty well. Side note - why are footie pajamas so much smaller than other clothes? With those, he can barely squeeze into the 3months anymore.
I couldn't be more proud of little man's sleeping habits. He falls asleep around 11:00 pretty consistently (occasionally give or take an hour), and sleeps for 10-11 hours without fail. He's still not much of a napper, but I can live with 20-30 minute breaks throughout the day as long as he sleeps at night! He's also started rolling over in his sleep...from tummy to back (first time was at 12 weeks). I haven't gotten him to do it during the day yet, but he's done it as often as four times in the night. I wake up to find him writhing around on his back like a turtle that can't right itself. So cute.
Talking has become his favorite thing to do. Especially if you talk with him (repeat back the same noises he's making). He will talk to you all day long if you will sit there. It is so cute! Not only that, but he's laughing too! His first LOL was at 11 weeks. Now he laughs all the time. Usually it's a silent chuckle, but if you really get him going, he has the cutest giggle!
Phases. That's right, he's already starting with the "phases." This month, the most memorable were the "I HATE the car phase" and the "I don't want anyone but mommy after 8pm" phase. Thankfully, I think we're on the tail end of both of those. After last night though, I'm concerned we're going into the "I'd rather roll around than sleep" phase. Lord, help me!
